About Cerulean
Cerulean is a working artist’s studio and gallery — rooted in craft, shaped by community, and built on the belief that creativity is a lifelong practice.
Founded in Raleigh, North Carolina by oil painter Megan Spillars, Cerulean is both a studio and a curated space for original art. We collaborate with emerging and established artists whose work carries the beauty of intention — pieces created by human hands, shaped by years of practice, experimentation, and learning.
As a painter myself, I’m still growing, still refining, still discovering new ways to see and express the world through color and texture. Cerulean isn’t built from the idea of having “arrived.” It’s built from a deep admiration for artists who devote themselves to their craft and a desire to share meaningful work with the people who collect it.
We Believe
Art matters because creativity is a human need.
Original works hold soul + carries the touch of time, skill, and story.
Learning never ends. Curiosity makes better art, and better humans.
Collecting art can be purposeful…it can uplift artists and open doors for the next generation.
Our Mission
Cerulean exists to:
Connect collectors and designers with meaningful, original work
Give back to art access programs for young creatives
Foster spaces for learning, exploration, and creative growth
A Studio That Shares Its Table
Cerulean is a place where:
Collectors find work that speaks to them personally
Designers discover pieces with heart — not mass-produced sameness
Students and curious creatives are invited to learn alongside working artists
Collect With Purpose
Every purchase supports today’s artists and helps give the next generation access to art experiences. With each purchase, a portion of proceeds is directed to programs that provide creative opportunities to underserved youth.
When you collect from Cerulean, you invest in two artists: the one whose work you collect, and the young creative who’s just beginning.
